This hike is a loop following the Hilton Falls Side Trail and the Bruce Trail. While on the Bruce Trail portion you will see some magnificent views from the top of the escarpment. More details on this hike as well as some terrific maps can be found in the Bruce Trail Guidebook.

This hike is best in the fall and spring. It is also good in the winter although fresh snowfalls can make much of this hike extra challenging; snowshoes could be a good thing to have. I tend to avoid this area from June through August as the many wetlands passed tend to be havens for mosquitos. (This is a lesson learned from first-hand experience: I received over 50 bites even after using a healthy application of Deep Woods. )

This hike can shortened to approximately 11K by walking back to your car along 6th Line instead of going into the Hilton Falls Conservation Area. If you follow the trails into Hilton Falls you can shave 3 or 4 km off the hike by following the Orange blazed trail to the north end of the park, where it rejoins the side trail.

There are several spots to park for this hike. There are two small parking lots on 6th line, one marked in the map below and a second about 1km north on 6th line. You can also park at the Hilton Falls Conservation Area parking lot.

The color track lines on this map show the hike segments.
